Difference Between Resistance and Impedance in tabular form

Resistance used for DC (direct current) and impedance is the AC (alternating current) equivalent. Resistance is due to electrons Different materials have different resistivity’s. The impedance is explained below the type of circuit they work in, elements.

With AC since the sign is always changing the direction of the field in the wires is always changing – so the magnetic field of the solenoid is also changing all the time. Now when field lines cut across a conductor an emf is generated in such a way to reduce the effects that created it (this is a combination of Lenz’s and Faraday’s laws which state mathematically where this is the magnetic flux linkage).

This means that when an AC current flows through a conductor a small back emf or back current is induced reducing the overall current.

Resistance vs impedance

The most important impedance is that resistance the term used to refer to opposition to direct current whereas impedance is used for AC. Resistance does not change the voltage and current waveform of the circuit whereas impedance changes the current and voltage waveforms.

Another major resistance and impedance are that impedance may be a combination of resistance, inductive reactance, and or capacitance reactance. Whereas resistance simply means the resistance of a component.

When we speak about DC electricity, resistance is the term used to refer to opposition to current flow whereas impedance is the term used in AC electricity. Impedance is basically a combination of resistance and reactance. Here is the Resistance and Impedance.

Resistance

Resistance is the term used to denote the opposition to the flow of current in a circuit or material. It depends on the resistivity and dimensions of the material. The resistance offered by a material to the flow of direct current and alternating current remains the same. It is denoted by the letter R.

Impedance

Impedance is the identification of the nature of AC electrical circuits which is formed based on capacitance and inductance. This value also modifies with the frequency. Impedance and reactance are usually presented as the same instruments and are interchangeably employed. It is essential to notice that reactance is the resistance subjected to the AC diagram by capacitors and inductors while impedance is the value that is evaluated by the sum of the reactance and resistance.
